2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
1/3 cup chocolate chips (optional)
2 tablespoons yogurt or sour cream (optional)


Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

Mash the ripe bananas until smooth.

In a bowl, mix bananas, sugar, and butter until combined.

Add eggs and vanilla, then mix until smooth.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.

Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture without overmixing.

Stir in optional add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.

Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool for 10–15 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack to cool completely before slicing.

Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for the best flavor and moisture.
