Description

A hearty, comforting soup made with tender white beans, savory ham, and aromatic vegetables, perfect for cozy family meals.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ham bone or 2 cups diced cooked ham

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) white beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 2 carrots, sliced

  • 2 celery stalks, diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 6 cups chicken broth

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Olive oil


Instructions

  • Sauté onion, carrots, and celery in olive oil until softened.

  • Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.

  • Add ham, beans, broth, bay leaf, and thyme.

  • Simmer gently for 45–60 minutes.

  • Remove ham bone, shred meat, and return to soup.

  • Season to taste and remove bay leaf before serving.

Notes

Stores well for meal prep.

Flavor improves the next day.

Mash beans for thicker texture if desired.
